Landlords having to provide 6 month notice periods to evict tenants has also been extended until 31 May 2021.

This is a result of the extension already coming into place from February.

Renters have had some form of protection from eviction for more than a year during the  pandemic. Government have also extended a ban on commercial evictions to 30 June.

Housing secretary, Robert Jenrick, said: “It's right that as we move through the road map, we ensure that businesses and renters continue to be supported."
